Message from the Headteacher

NyearI would like to extend a warm welcome to all students and families as we begin the Spring Term. I hope that you enjoyed a peaceful and restorative Christmas break and that students return refreshed and ready to engage fully in school life.

The start of a new year provides an important opportunity to re-establish routines and reaffirm our shared commitment to the high standards that underpin success at our school. Our expectations are clear and consistent, and they are central to maintaining a calm and productive learning environment.

Uniform
We expect all students to attend school in full and correct uniform at all times. Our uniform policy supports a sense of pride, equality and belonging within our school community. We ask parents and carers to ensure that uniform, including footwear, meets the school’s requirements.

“Strive for 5”
Being fully prepared for learning is essential. All students are expected to arrive at school each day with the appropriate equipment and approach their learning in line with our Strive for 5 expectations. Having the correct equipment enables students to participate fully and confidently in their lessons.

"Learning First"
Our continued focus on Learning First emphasises the importance of punctuality, positive attitudes to learning and sustained effort in every lesson. We encourage all students to approach the term with ambition, resilience and a commitment to doing their very best.

We look forward to a successful and productive term and thank you for your continued support in helping us maintain our high standards and positive learning culture.

This week Year 8 students visited the Royal Armouries in Leeds. Thank you to Mr Pedro for organising this visit and to the staff who also accompanied the visit. Students get so much out of trips and they really help to underpin their learning.

Fortunately, we appear to have escaped Storm Goretti and the threat of wind and snow. Please note that if there is ever the need to close school, we will send a message out to parents as soon as we can, to provide as much notice as possible.
Of course, we hope this will not be necessary.

Keep warm this weekend.

Mr Gill
Head of Academy
