Careers and Destinations

Our Careers Programme is designed to support students from Year 7 through to Year 11 in developing the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to make informed decisions about their futures. Through a carefully structured progression of activities, students explore a wide range of career paths, understand the world of work and identify their own strengths and interests.

Starting in Year 7, students are introduced to the concept of careers and begin to consider how their skills and subjects relate to future opportunities. As they move through each year, the programme builds in depth and complexity, including career-focused lessons, employer encounters, workplace experiences and personalised guidance.

By Year 11, students are equipped with practical tools such as CV writing/application support, personalised career guidance and one-to-one advice and post-16 planning support. They leave with a strong sense of direction, increased self-awareness and the ability to make confident, informed choices about their next steps.

Our Aims

· To provide students with accurate and up-to-date information about a wide range of career options and pathways.

· To develop students' skills, knowledge and confidence to make informed decisions about their future education and employment.

· To support students in understanding the world of work, including the skills and qualifications required in different industries.

· To facilitate meaningful encounters with employers, apprenticeships and further/higher education providers.

· To provide personalised guidance and advice tailored to individual students' interests, strengths and needs.

· To help students develop essential transferable skills, such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving, that will support their career progression.
