Message from the Headteacher

As we approach the final week of term, it has certainly been a busy time in school.

This week a group of Year 8 students had their first “Brilliant Club” meeting with their Scholars Programme tutor.
We were pleased to welcome Mott MacDonald Bentley, a civil engineering and construction contractor currently working locally with Yorkshire Water, into school. They delivered two engaging workshops in which students worked in teams against the clock to build the tallest tower, while also considering the financial and environmental impact of the materials they selected.

We hosted the Year 10 Parents’ Evening which provided a valuable opportunity for meaningful discussions about students’ progress and next steps.

We were proud to celebrate our Duke of Edinburgh students at a presentation evening. It was a pleasure to welcome the Mayor of Harrogate, Councillor Chris Aldred, who kindly presented the 33 students with their awards in recognition of their achievements.

In addition, we enjoyed a fantastic Performing Arts Evening last night. Well done to all the students who took part, events like this provide a wonderful platform for students to showcase their talent and hard work. Thank you also to those parents and friends who came to support the performers.

Looking ahead, next week is Rewards Week, and a group of students will be heading to Barcelona for their school trip. We wish them all a safe, enjoyable, and memorable experience.
