WEEKLY BULLETIN
Message from the Headteacher
Welcome back to school after the half-term break! I hope everyone enjoyed a restful time and is feeling refreshed and ready for the weeks ahead.
It has been a busy start to the half term, with lots of opportunities for our students to learn and develop. Year 11 students have started their mock GCSE examinations, and we wish them the very best with these. Mock exams are a great way to identify areas for improvement and provide an indication of what students need to concentrate on in preparation for their final exams.
We were delighted to welcome the Speakers Trust into school to work with our Year 10 students, helping them to develop their confidence and communication skills through public speaking. It was a great opportunity for students to challenge themselves and find their voices.
Our Year 7 and 8 students enjoyed a visit from Shine, who delivered an engaging assembly about future career options. Shine aims to raise awareness and knowledge of higher education, while also inspiring, motivating and encouraging participants to realise their aspirations and achieve academic success. This session encouraged students to think about the exciting opportunities and pathways available to them in the future.
Our students have worked together to create a poppy display using recycled plastic bottles. This thoughtful project showcases creativity, teamwork and commitment to sustainability, while providing a meaningful opportunity to remember and honour those who have served and made the ultimate sacrifice.
I look forward to another successful half term, filled with learning, achievement and opportunities for everyone to shine.
Wishing you all a lovely weekend.
Mr Gill
