  • Society.

Understanding Human–Earth Relationships

Links to British Values

Students explore how democratic systems operate in different countries and how decisions are made about land use, environmental management, and urban planning. Geography empowers students to understand their rights and responsibilities in society, especially in topics like migration, development, and globalisation. Through the study of diverse cultures, religions, and lifestyles across the globe, students develop empathy and appreciation for difference. Geography explores how faith and belief systems influence landscapes, settlement patterns, and cultural practices. Pupils investigate how laws and policies shape environmental protection, urban development, and international relations. Topics like climate agreements, conservation laws, and planning regulations show how rules govern human interaction with the planet.
