Message from the Headteacher
The last week of the term has been a whirlwind of activity! We had a rewards trip to the Odeon Cinema, an interactive CARES Community day, awards presented in the last week of term assemblies and year 7s were all presented with a reading book as part of the Book Buzz scheme. (Thank you to Mrs Rees for organising this).
On the Community Day, our students focused on oracy, researching the benefits and drawbacks of AI. They engaged in a Socratic debate and wrote speeches, incorporating the listening ladder throughout their preparation. The winners from each form will advance to round two, where they will present their speeches to VIPs in February. That is something we look forward to in 2025!
As part of the PTA fundraising efforts, Miss Mistry was a good sport and agreed to wear the Christmas pudding outfit on the final day of term. Thank you to the staff who put themselves forward to be nominated.
This week I had the pleasure of awarding the student and staff the Headteacher' s Learning First Award. Congratulations to the winners.
I would like to extend my gratitude to all staff across departments for their unwavering dedication to the students, helping to make this last week of a very busy term a success.
We also want to thank you and our students for all of your continued hard work and commitment around attendance, uniform and adhering to our rules around the usage of mobile phones this term.
Finally, I wish all our school families, friends and community a very Happy Christmas filled with joy and fun and a prosperous start to the New Year!
Mr Gill Head of Academy.
