Message from the Headteacher

This week, I had the pleasure of receiving some wonderful feedback from a member of the public who had encountered a group of our students during a trip to see Blood Brothers. The individual took the time to share how impressed they were with the behaviour and attitude of our students, noting how they demonstrated respect, consideration, and kindness to others. It made me immensely proud to hear that our students are not only thriving within the school environment but are also living out our CARES values—courage, aspiration, respect, equality, and self-control—outside the classroom.

At Harrogate High School, we strive to create a community where these values guide everything we do. Our students, supported by our dedicated staff, continually embody these principles, and it’s heartening to see them consistently living up to our high expectations. Whether in the classroom, on trips, or engaging with the public, these values are the foundation of our school culture.

In addition to this feedback, I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our PTA, who hosted a fantastic school disco last night. Events like these provide our students with the opportunity to come together, build friendships, and simply enjoy themselves. The photos from the event are a testament to the fun and energy that filled the evening. A big thank you also goes to the staff members who supported the event, ensuring everything ran smoothly and safely.

I look forward to many more moments of pride and success as we continue to grow and support one another in this school community.

Wishing you all a pleasant weekend.

Mr Gill Head of Academy.
