Message from the Headteacher
This week has been bustling with activities and we were delighted to welcome the BBC Careers roadshow into school. Delivered in partnership with local BBC radio stations, the roadshow consisted of a specialist local and national careers panel talking about their career journeys.
Students engaged well with the content and we all enjoyed the insight into their interesting career journeys. Our Year 7 students participated in the annual "Restart a Heart" training. This vital event equips students with lifesaving CPR skills, ensuring they are prepared to act in emergencies. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the volunteers from the Yorkshire Ambulance Service for their dedication and time in providing this essential training. A special thank you also goes to our school nurse, Ms. Green, for her efforts in organising this important session.
Looking ahead, we are excited for our upcoming Drama performance for our junior and senior drama students on Thursday. They will be performing shortened versions of The Tempest and Midsummer Night’s Dream. Tickets are only available from cast members so please see one of them if you would like to come and support them. Break a leg to all performers!
Last night the Year 11 GCSE drama group went to Harrogate Theatre to watch the brilliant Harrogate Dramatic Society perform The Haunting of Hill House. The students thought the acting was superb and that it was staged in a very clever way to build the tension. Thank you to Mrs Hastings and Mr Coleman for accompanying them.
On the sports front, we have an action-packed week ahead with a Year 7 and 8 football tournament against Rossett on Wednesday, followed by a netball fixture against King James' School on Thursday. Best of luck to all our teams as they showcase their hard work and sportsmanship.
I would like to express appreciation to staff who have organised and support the fantastic opportunities for our students.
As we head in to the last week before the half-term break, I hope everyone enjoys a restful weekend! #
Mr Gill Head of Academy.
