Message from the Headteacher
This week, we said a fond farewell to our Year 11 students. When I first joined Harrogate High, this cohort was in Year 8, and it has been a privilege to watch these students grow, develop, and thrive over the years. We wish them all the best for the future—good luck, and please do keep in touch!
Staff will be here to support and celebrate with students on Results Day. In the meantime, enjoy a well-deserved and restful summer.
Our Year 10 students are currently in the middle of their practice exams. Keep up the fantastic effort, your hard work will pay off!
This time of year is always active and school has many trips, activities and events lined up over the next few weeks. Staff are extremely busy and so it was particularly appreciated that we received kind messages on National Teacher day. I would like to thank those parents/carers/students who emailed in, staff are really grateful.
Here is an example of one of the lovely messages we received.
"A big thank you to all the staff at HHS, you all pull together to provide such great support and fabulous opportunities for the children. An extra shout out to staff who have kindly given extra time to provide trips such as to London and the Houses of Parliament and to the Royal Armouries in Leeds. And for all the enrichment clubs, particularly in our case the performing arts, school production, School of Rock and Choir and others. Thank you to everyone on national thank a teacher / teacher appreciation day - but, really, we appreciate what you all do every day. Please pass our thanks to the whole staff."
Enjoy the sunshine but take care in the heat this weekend everyone.
Mr Gill
