Message from the Headteacher

We were delighted to welcome our new year 7 cohort into school earlier this week. They had the opportunity to meet their teachers and fellow students, learn about the school day and our expectations. As well as being informative, these days are to help students settle in and remove any nerves of the unknown for September. I’d like to extend my thanks to all staff involved, and in particular to Mr Coleman, Miss Mistry, and Mrs Gudgeon, for planning and delivering a fun-filled range of activities culminating in a celebration assembly where our dance students treated the new cohort to a performance! We have received excellent feedback from both parents and students.

Bunsen burner DSC 0349Our summer production took place last night. It was lovely to be able to welcome Willowtree Community Primary School choir to join us and perform as well. Well done to all the students who took part (including Year 11 students who returned for the occasion) and thank you to Mr Parnell and Mr Frampton for organising such a vibrant event. It is always a great to be able to showcase students’ talents. Thank you also to the PTA for supporting and serving refreshments and to all of you who came to support the show.

Year 10 students enjoyed the lovely weather yesterday as they had their GCSE geography field trip to Hornsea with Mrs Rhodes and Mr Morrison.

Finally today, I’d like to mention our Year 10 student, Izzy G, who recently took part in the final of the national "Speak Out" competition. Well done on this achievement Izzy! It makes us all proud to have HHS students taking part in events in the community and representing our school.

The upcoming week is set to be extremely busy, with various trips, our rewards fair, and end-of-term celebrations plans.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Mr Gill
Head of Academy
