Message from the Headteacher

Today, some of our students embodied our CARES values, “Respect” and “Equality” by supporting the charity Young Minds. In exchange for a donation, everyone was encouraged to wear a yellow accessory, and it was wonderful to see bright flashes of yellow around the school! A huge thank you to all the families who contributed and helped raise awareness for this important cause.

Last Friday our student leaders enjoyed a successful trip to London, where they developed their leadership skills and represented our school brilliantly.

We are delighted that a new group of students, this time from year 7, have started their AQA course at Corn Close Care Farm. They had a wonderful first session and are looking forward to returning next week.

Earlier in the week we held a Parent Literacy Event which was a great success, bringing families together to explore ways to support reading and literacy at home. Thank you to everyone who attended and took part.

Looking ahead, the PTA is busy organising a Year 7, 8 and 9 Halloween Disco (fancy dress is optional, but there will be a prize for the best costume). Make sure you sign up for your child to attend on Arbor by the 17th October to avoid disappointment as the PTA cannot accept payment after this date.

We are really looking forward to meeting our Year 7 parents at the Settling in Event at 5pm next week, 13th October. We are hoping to appoint our new team of year 7 student leaders after half term and look forward to receiving their applications shortly. See later in this bulletin for details of how to apply.

In the meantime, have a wonderful weekend.
Make the most of the longer days as the clocks go back soon!

Mr Gill
Head of Academy
