Message from the Headteacher
This week our Year 7 and Year 8 football teams performed well in the matches against Rossett. Well done to the students who represented the school. Thank you to those who came to watch the matches. We were overwhelmed with the fantastic turn out and it meant a lot to the teams, so thank you for supporting them.
Thank you to the year 7 parents who attended the settling in event this week. Miss Mistry and Mr Coleman were pleased to report on how well the year 7 students have settled and answered questions about school. There were stalls where parents could sign up for music lessons and find out more about life and the opportunities for their chilrden at Harrogate High School.
Earlier in the week a group of Year 10 and 11 students were invited to attend a meeting at the Convention Centre held by North Yorshire Councy Council. The purpose of the visit was to provide their input for the future of the town. The group of students who attended were made up of student leaders, purple press and GCSE geography students.
They were excellent representatives for the school and their input was invaluable.
Yesterday we were thrilled to welcome back the Yorkshire Ambulance Service and Community First Responders to deliver the annual ‘restart a heart event’, teaching invaluable life saving CPR skills to our year 7 pupils. Pupils really impressed our visitors during the workshops; where pupils were able to get hands on during scenario work assessing for danger, calling for help, practicing CPR and use of the training defibrillator.
Thank you to Miss Green, our School Nurse for organising and facilitating the day.
As we head into our last week of school before the half term break, we will be commencing a soft revision week with Year 11 students in preparation for their mock exams which take place after half term.
I hope you have a lovely weekend.
Mr Gill
Head of Academy
